Welcome to my little world!

My name is Gurli (b.72) am I married to Olav Arne (70) we live in a farm called Kroken in Soknedal- Norway. Soknedal is in Middle Norway and we are living of the farm . We deliver milk. We have some rabbits too - I want to begin with Angora rabbit - but right now I have my hands full with the famr as we building a new cow house and we have four lovely kids. Veronika (b.91) Nikolai Elias (94) Esten André (98) and Joakim Angel (00).
Our farm have been on another place before and the old cow house is at Løkkhaugen - as is 9 kilometers from Kroken. Kroken was the summerhouse and summer cowhouse before - but since all the land to the farm is here at Kroken we build a new cow house here. We started when we took over the farm in 1999. Its a hard life to build a barn - all by our selfs - but we have to do it ourself because its to much cost to get someone to help us.
In Kroken hasnt it been living people all year since before 1610. We have still some old house here - summer house is from 16-1700. And a old cow house from 17-1800.Its not the houses that use to be Kroken in 1610 but we have some things from that time. Its a cozy place. Its about 610 meteres over sea level so we dont have any long summers!!

Handcraft
I am really an handcraft lady! I do knitting, crocketing, Rose painting, silk painting, Cross stithcing and more. I do knit for sale too - mostly that is sweathers.

Genealogy

I have been an genealogist since 1991 - when I was pregnant with my first kid. I wanted to know theyr ancestors , who where they and how did they live and when. Did they get many kids? Do they lived well, or was they poor or how was it??
When you first have started this hobby its there for lifetime - I think so - everytime you say hello to a family memeber you never have meet you automaticly think what family line do they have and whats the relation to me....
Dates and years are more importaint. I havent been able to searh so much to find the living pattern to my ancestor but one day I will and I will be in my own world for a long time I think. Right now I am searching for mostly Americans that have family coming form Norway and they want me to search for them. But many in Norway to ask me , and its always nice to help. In this year I have to take a small fee for my work, but I think people understand that - this things take alot of my time so I think this is OK.
